In the first quarter (April–June 2025), IREDA reported a 36 per cent year-on-year decline in net profit to Rs 247 crore, primarily due to higher expenses. The company had posted a profit of Rs 384 crore in the same period last year.
However, revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,947 crore, up from Rs 1,510 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Total expenses increased to Rs 1,655 crore from Rs 1,035 crore, while financing costs rose to Rs 1,218 crore from Rs 975 crore.
The company had also reported an impairment on financial instruments of Rs 363 crore, compared to a gain of Rs 30 crore a year earlier.
