NMDC reports 16% rise in February iron ore production, salesState-run NMDC reported a 16% year-on-year rise in both iron ore production and sales for February, even as its shares trade flat in the afternoon session on Monday.By Sheersh Kapoor March 2, 2026, 3:28:21 PM IST (Published)1 Min ReadState-run NMDC Limited on Monday (March 2) reported a 16% year-on-year increase in both production and sales of iron ore for February, according to its provisional business update.
Total production during the month stood at 5.35 million tonnes (MT), up from 4.62 MT in February last year. Sales rose to 4.60 MT from 3.98 MT a year ago.
Cumulatively, production for the financial year up to February reached 47.79 MT, compared with 40.49 MT in the corresponding period last year. Sales for the period climbed to 44.34 MT from 40.20 MT.
The improvement was driven by higher output from both Chhattisgarh and Karnataka operations. As of 3:00 PM, shares of NMDC were trading at ₹80.85, down ₹0.89 or 1.09% on the day.

Earlier this month, the company reported December quarter revenue growth of 16% year-on-year to ₹7,610.8 crore, aided by a ramp-up in its pellet business. However, EBITDA margin narrowed to 28.2% from 36.1% a year earlier, impacted by higher expenses.
