Bollywood actors Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have collaborated for several projects and have become an iconic as well as fans’ favourite duo with their comic roles in the Hera Pheri franchise.

Their on-screen chemistry and screen presence have captivated the audience. However, Paresh Rawal has recently revealed that they are just colleague, not friends.

During a recent interview with Lallantop, the actor was asked if Akshay is his friend, to which he responded, “Yes.”

However, he then explained, “Film industry mein colleague hote hain, theatre mein dost hote hain, aur school mein jigar jaan dost hote hain (In the film industry, people are colleagues, in theatre they are friends, and in school, they are heart-to-heart friends).” He added, “But film ke andar colleague hote hain. ( But in films, they are colleagues)."

Paresh then talked about his industry friends and said, “Mere dost jinko main with respect se bol sakun toh Om Puri sahab the, Naseer bhai hain, Johnny Lever hain (The ones I consider friends—whom I can respectfully call friends—were Om Puri sahab, Naseer bhai (Naseeruddin Shah), and Johnny Lever).”

He further noted, “Ye hain jinko main dost bol sakun. Ek hota hai na ki with permission (These are the people I can call friends, with permission, because they are so big).”

For the unversed, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have shared screen in movies like Hera Pheri, Welcome, OMG! Oh My God, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and more.

The actors are all set to reunite once again for a series of upcoming projects. They will star in Priyadarshan's upcoming films Bhooth Bangla and Hera Pheri 3. They are currently shooting for both films.

However, Paresh Rawal and Akshay will also star in Welcome To The Jungle, which also features Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release later this year.
