Global IT services and technology solutions company Sonata Software Ltd on Thursday, November 13, reported a 13.5% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit at ₹120.9 crore for the second quarter that ended September 30, 2025. Net profit for the same quarter last year stood at ₹106.49 crore. 

On a sequential basis, net profit rose 10% from ₹109 crore in the June quarter.

Sonata reported ₹2,119.3 crore in revenue from operations, down 2.3% YoY and 28.5% quarter-on-quarter. Revenue in Q2FY25 stood at ₹2,169.83 crore while the June quarter saw revenue of ₹2,965 crore.

The sequential decline was driven by lower domestic product and services revenue, which dipped 38.8% to ₹1391.3 crore. Meanwhile, revenue from international IT services in rupee terms grew 4.3% QoQ to ₹730.3 crore. 

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) grew 9.2% from last quarter to ₹146.3 crore, while margins improved by 240 basis points to 6.9% from 4.5% a year earlier.

The company declared a second interim dividend of ₹1.25 per equity share of ₹1 face value for FY2025-26. The record date was set on November 21, 2025 and the dividend will be paid from December 3 onwards. 

Samir Dhir, MD & CEO of Sonata Software, said, “The business secured a large deal in the healthcare vertical with a leading provider, reaffirming our focus on driving growth through large deals and consistent execution."

Dhir added that the company's investments in artificial intelligence (AI) are delivering results, with AI-led orders accounting for approximately 10% of the overall order book for the quarter.

Based in Bengaluru, Sonata Software has market presence across North America, the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, and Australia, New Zealand (ANZ).

Shares of the company ended 0.97% in the red at ₹389 on the NSE today, November 13.
