Suriya unveils his next, which will be directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi. Actor Suriya is all set for another interesting Tamil film. The announcement was made during his forthcoming film Retro’s pre-release event, held in Hyderabad, where he expressed his elation over the “beautiful association” bringing together what he called “beautiful talent.

At the high-profile event, which also featured actor Vijay Deverakonda as the chief guest, Suriya said, "I should make this announcement today. I needed to kindly thank  Allu Arvind Garu, the whole journey was him. Blessings on your heads, you've all been waiting for this announcement. We are collaborating with Sithara Entertainments, Vamsi and my dearest brother Venky." The actor said that the venture, tentatively referred to as Suriya 46, will go on floors in May 2025, and he will have to be stationed in Hyderabad for a long period during the shooting.

Venky Atluri also shared the news on Instagram Stories and wrote, “Absolutely privileged and very excited to work with the phenomenal @actorsuriya sir for his next, #Suriya46. Excited to share this special journey with you all shortly! Pic courtesy my most special @nagavamsi19 garu! @sitharaentertainments."

Suriya on his part was very vocal about Retro and referred to it as a comeback moment. “You don’t lose when you fall , but when you fail to get up. We’re going to come back big and we’re going to hit a big punch and we’re going to come victorious again. 'May 1st' is going to be a beautiful film that you all will hold close to your hearts," he had said. The actor looked all set to redeem himself after Kanguva’s poor show, which despite the staggering budget of ₹350 crore made only ₹106 global.

Suriya also wished good luck to his actor friend Nani, whose new film HIT: The Third Case is also releasing on May 1. Best of luck with a streak. Make it a hat-trick for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and Court As Nani said – May 1 – Kotha movie kosam Party oss… Let’s toast both of these films,” he said.

Retro, helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, is the first movie between the director and Suriya. The movie also features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar and Prakash Raj, along with a special appearance by Shriya Saran.

Well, Suriya fans have two reasons to celebrate now — with Retro releasing soon, and an interesting project with Venky Atluri already in the pipeline!
