Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder on Monday (April 28) how Vaibhav Suryavanshi had the chance of speaking to legends like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni ahead of his record-breaking century in Jaipur. In a stunning display, Vaibhav smashed a 35-ball century, steering the Rajasthan Royals to a commanding 8-wicket win over Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans. The win ended RR's losing streak and kept their hopes alive for the playoffs.

Speaking to Sports Today after Vaibhav's blistering ton, Bhinder shared insights into the 14-year-old prodigy's journey. He recalled Vaibhav's earlier meeting with Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni in Guwahati, when Rajasthan hosted the five-time IPL champions.

"Yes, he met Dhoni the last game we played in Guwahati. So he met Mahi. He will again meet him in our reverse fixture against CSK. But I can see similar traits in both men. Both are calm and cool, but still play aggressive cricketing shots. So there are a few similarities."

"MS Dhoni also praised him a lot, he said 'ok, you got the baby in your team. The baby is showing the great shots like a matured player," said Bhinder.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will reunite with MSD in the reverse fixture when the Royals head to Chennai for a match on May 12.

Vaibhav has been a longtime admirer of Virat Kohli and he finally got to chat with him after the encounter between the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Kohli, 36, took a moment to share some key batting tips with the young talent, offering words of wisdom that could further shape Vaibhav’s promising future.

"Vaibhav likes Virat Kohli a lot. They met and shared a couple of tips. Virat also told him that how to be grounded and how to stay humble and work hard," said Bhinder.
