GPT Infraprojects Ltd on Tuesday, February 17, said it has secured a ₹1,201.36 crore contract from Northern Railway for the construction of a rail-cum-road bridge over the River Ganga in Varanasi.

The company said the order has been awarded by CAO CON, Northern Railway, and will be executed in a joint venture with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). GPTINFRA’s share in the project stands at 40%, amounting to ₹480.54 crore.

The project entails the design and construction of a new Rail-cum-Road Bridge No. 11, located about 50 metres downstream of the existing Malviya Bridge near Kashi Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh, according to an exchange filing.

The scope includes construction of the bridge substructure and superstructure comprising 8 spans of 108.5 metres and 2 spans of 103.3 metres open web steel girders.

The lower deck of the bridge will carry four railway lines, while the upper deck will accommodate a six-lane road. The contract also covers construction of railway and road approaches, along with associated overhead equipment (OHE) and general electrical works in the Lucknow Division of Northern Railway.

The company said the project is to be completed within 1,461 days from the appointed date.

Shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd ended higher on Tuesday, Februray 17, by 1.72% at ₹124 . 30 on the NSE.

GPT Infraprojects Q3 results

GPT Infraprojects reported a 6% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit for the third quarter, with profit at ₹20.1 crore compared to ₹21.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue during the quarter rose 2.1% year-on-year to ₹283.9 crore from ₹278 crore in Q3 of the previous fiscal. EBITDA increased 11.7% to ₹38.2 crore, up from ₹34.2 crore a year ago. Operating margin improved to 13.4% compared to 12.3% in the same quarter last year.

The board of directors also declared a second interim dividend of 7.5%, amounting to ₹0.75 per equity share of face value ₹10 each, for the financial year 2025–26.
